The late June Callwood left a legacy of voluntarism and selflessness that touched every corner of Ontario. Honouring the efforts of volunteers reminds us of the importance of civic engagement and responsibility, and the role we all play in making this province a great place to live
The province is recognizing 12 individuals and four organizations with a June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism for their commitment to volunteering and longstanding service to their communities.
The award recognizes dedicated individuals and organizations who, like the late June Callwood, demonstrate exceptional leadership, creativity and innovation in their service to their communities and others. Examples of this year’s recipients include:
Dr. Raj Khanuja of Orangeville, is being recognized for his annual Free Dental Clinic Day, providing dental care for those who could not otherwise afford it. In 2017, he expanded the free clinic to Wellington County as well.
Congratulations Dr. Raj Khanuja, and thank you for all that you do for our community.
